(Newport, KY) -- Thursday night, a horse-drawn carriage was involved in a collision on the Taylor-Southgate Bridge. Friday night, it happened again.
Newport Police say the carriage was southbound across the bridge, and had an escort: a vehicle was following the carriage to prevent it from being struck. But, another vehicle hit the escort, and pushed it into the back of the carriage. The driver was thrown to the road, and a wheel broken, but the horse kept going, and pulled the cart to its usual stop in front of the Newport Levy.
The horse was not injured.
The conditions of the drivers were not released. As of early Saturday morning, police had not written any citations.
